Friday afternoon

I realised that I haven’t posted for a week or so…I’m still here, just feeling a little deflated. I got my Biscuits story finished and submitted, but I haven’t really been able to write anything else in the last few days. I’ve been trying to write this morning and failing, so I picked up a friend’s story to read (awesome and original, if needing work, which he knows already; I’m looking forward to reading the finished version if he lets me) and then picked up a short story from Fox Spirits

*sigh*

You know when something’s so good that it’s depressing? I know I’ll never be able to write like that simply from a style perspective, but just…wow. (It was Yen Lo Wang’s Wife that depressed me, by the way, but I highly recommend They Are The Dead too.)

I’m going to plan some Dresden this afternoon to get my mind out of its current writing slump, I think. When in doubt, plot mayhem!
