Five Weeks of Writing: Roundup of Week 3

Another week gone? Where?! I got another 6000 words done…but ugh. Seriously, I may have to give up on my PLN. I haven’t had the time I wanted, and what time I’ve had has been derailed by house projects – which is good! The storeroom is tidy and we can find tools, the path’s taking shape, I’ve got shutters planned for next week…but it means I’m just not writing as much as I wanted to.

I’m back to working three mornings a week in August, and I had already planned writing time then; I want to use the afternoon hours to make myself write, and not be able to get distracted by DIY and housework! I’ll also have the train journeys to be able to read (although I do have that at the moment, it’s only two days a week, which means one book less a week…) So I may restart with the progress at that point.

However…No Man’s Land is making progress in other ways. I had some plotting thoughts today, and everything’s got a bit more streamlined. I’ve done some thinking about who’s going to die (everyone) and the baddies (not so much bad as just not really on the same wavelength), so it seems to be slowly coming together. It is definitely going to hit at least 60k, though. I have scenes forming, plans happening, and I’m only writing chapter 6!

So I’ll give up on these updates for the time being; for the next month or so, expect more random updates, a few rants and more reviews!
