February 2015: my reading pile

reading_stack_Feb_2015My reading pile for February! I’m making the most of working in a library and getting things out as I spot them, and I’ve also had a combination of gift vouchers for Amazon, a Grimbold Kickstarter and a book signing that mean I’ve collected a few others for the pile…

From bottom to top; two theory books (Theory is Fun by Maureen Cox, in this case Grade Three and Grade Five); the Willow, Weep No More anthology; The Golem’s Eye by Jonathan Stroud; An Imperial Possession by Matthew Mattingly; A brief history of Roman Britain by Joan Alcock; White Mountain by Sophie E Tallis; Atlantis and the Game of Time by Katie Alford; Jim Butcher’s Storm Front, Fool Moon and Grave Peril – although I think these will be more reference material for the RPG and my writing than an actual read, as I have read them once – and finally, Shadowmancer by G P Taylor.

I also have The Art of Forgetting by Joanne Hall in my virtual to-read pile, along with some drafts and beta-reads for friends, one of which is a dragon story and another is a rather good couple of chapters from an…well, I guess it’s Arthurian legend crossed with a very sharp humour crossed with adventure, which I really want to read more of!

Pratchett_Feb_2015And finally – my lovely housemate Sam bought me Terry Pratchett’s Compleat Ankh-Morpork City Guide! We’re thinking of framing the map and putting it up on the wall. Geeky household? Nah…

So that’s what I’m reading – or not, as I currently have a cold and therefore no focus-brain. Hopefully I’ll be able to get started on the pile tomorrow.
