As y’all might have guessed, I do a lot of reading. Here’s some suggestions for books that You Must Read! None of these are exclusive – just some of my favourites.

General Favourites
Any Neil Gaiman. I’m a particular fan of NeverWhere but American Gods, the Sandman Series (start with Preludes & Nocturnes) and The Ocean At The End Of The Lane are excellent as well. Also look out for Good Omens, with Terry Pratchett.
Diane Wynne Jones – Deep Secret or Howl’s Moving Castle are my favourites.
Rebellion Books
Ok, these are mostly my acquisitions… but I’m allowed to be biased!
Grave Secrets by Alice James – a fun vampire/zombie detective romp that I adore.
The Chimera Code by Wayne Santos – cyberpunk plus magic plus explosions.
Shadow in the Empire of Light – Jane will hate me saying it, but it’s “feminist Jane Austen with sexytimes” – and a telepathic cat.
Beneath The Rising by Premee Mohamed – sweet coming-of-age relationship issues plus cthulu monsters.
The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal – alt 1960s space race. The entire series is wonderful.
The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison – beautifully intricate politics and court intrigue. The Witness for the Dead is coming soon too!
Steel Frame by Andrew Skinner – kickass giant robots plus the ending made me cry.
