A writing update: 12th May 2015

Look, I have to be flippant. I have to keep it funny. Otherwise I’ll let the screaming in my head take over and then I won’t be able to stop.

I’ve got a few days of holiday coming up (yay!) and I’m planning on doing some writing. I’m heading down homewards to visit my family, and so I should be able to settle myself at the table with a pot of tea, a slice of Grandma’s cake and no cats, and just write.

I’ve got a few projects that I want to get finished:

– Book 5 of the Green Sky series, Empty Skies and Sunlight. The middle section has been unfinished for months because it’s the hard-graft writing that I hate, but I am determined to sit down and just get it done!

– The story for the above extract. It’s for a short story competition, and it’s a nice writing exercise for me. It’s at 2000 words already but I’m not sure what I think of it, so it’s going to need finishing and then reviewing.

– If I have time, I want to do some more work on Green Sky, and I’ve got a few odd pieces to work on, including another dystopian piece for Defying Doomsday. I’m still working on my Winter piece for Fox Spirits (although that’s 15th June so I really need to get on with it) and a few other odd personal pieces, including some lyrics.

Beyond that, I’m going to sleep and it’s going to be amazing!
